Testing websites using Incapsula

Incapsula is a service that provides your website with DDoS protection, web security and is a CDN. It sits in front of your website and can intelligently mitigate attacks and fraudulent traffic. It can be compared to the services offered by Cloudflare.

Incapsula can also automatically detect and block bot traffic, meaning it’s possible they also block our uptime monitors or provide additional challenges before serving any content. This may result in false positives, failing string matches or final endpoint checks.

To resolve this, the owner of the website is required to take action if they want it to be monitored by us. We recommend the following actions:

  1. Read this article by Incapsula, providing information on “Good and Bad bots” – Open Article
  2. Add an exception for StatusCake based on User Agent
  3. Enter the complete string below in the User Agent field.

StatusCake User Agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/98 Safari/537.4 (StatusCake)

Important note: If you configured a custom user agent in your tests, please use that user agent string instead.
