It’s always been our view that if we can support companies at their earliest stages then down the line when they need more advanced monitoring then they know and understand our feature rich product; While other website monitoring platforms are doing more and more to restrict what their free users get, we’ve been looking at what more we can provide and with that in mind have made some improvements to the community plan.
Our community plan users now have access to 1 page speed test (set to run daily). Page Speed allows you to understand how your site loads beyond just the single files. With Page Speed, all content including JavaScript, Images, and other external resources are loaded, analyzed and their speed presented to you in an actionable way. We understand that you might have the best server with the best backend in the world, but if you’re using external resources such as advertising networks, analytics, or content CDN’s then they can impact your site and more importantly – your reputation and StatusCake at its core is about protecting your reputation online.
If you need more page speed monitoring tests then they are included in all our paid plans with check rates up to every 5 minutes and a widespread of geographic locations – giving you the power to understand your site’s performance not just locally but globally.
We’ve also used this opportunity to make some improvements to the page speed interface and performance. We’ve also added an often requested feature of being able to print the waterfall charts it produces.
But it’s not just free users who are benefiting from these changes – continuing to ensure we offer the best deal for our customers we’ve also been looking at SMS credits and have reduced the prices across the board. You’ll be getting more credits for the same money than you did last week. Got a superior plan? We’ve upped the included monthly credits from 25 all the way up to 75.

As velocity increases, knowing that something has gone wrong before users do becomes a critical capability. But detection is only the beginning. Once alerts fire and dashboards light up, humans still have to interpret what’s happening,

Strong review practices, clear ownership, and solid fundamentals still matter just as much when code is AI-assisted as when it’s not. That post sparked a follow-up question in the comments that’s worth sitting with: With AI speeding things

For some teams, it’s an obvious productivity multiplier. For others, it’s viewed with suspicion. A source of low-quality code, unreviewable pull requests, and latent production risk. One concern we hear frequently goes

3 min read For any web developer, DevTools provides an irreplaceable aid to debugging code in all common browsers. Both Safari and Firefox offer great solutions in terms of developer tools, however in this post I will be talking about the highlights of the most recent features in my personal favourite browser for coding, Chrome DevTools. For something

Micro animations are an understated way of adding a little bit of fun to everyday user interactions such as hovering over a link, or clicking
