Go Developer role

We are looking for an experienced Go Developer to join our fast growth business.

You will work directly with our Head of Technology to support the design, development, maintenance, and operations of both our current and greenfield systems and infrastructure as we transition towards using more cutting-edge technologies.

The ideal candidate is looking for a challenge, self-motivated and excited to be part of a new team developing the future of our product. You will have proven experience developing scalable web-based products and demonstrating a DevOps mindset. In addition, it is expected for you to have a strong working knowledge across the sorts of technologies found in typical web applications and are comfortable implementing and consuming APIs, developer tools and working with cloud-based technologies.

Must haves:
  • At least 2 years commercial experience with Go
  • Strong background writing automated testing suites
  • Experience working with microservice architectures
  • Experience working with SQL, and several database implementations
  • Experience implementing automated testing and deployment pipelines
  • Understand the important role observability plays in a production environment and how it can be achieved
  • Good knowledge of Linux - comfortable around running and maintaining services across multiple servers
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools to build stable, consistent, and reproducible production environments
Nice to haves:
  • Experience using containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Comfortable working with legacy code and infrastructure
  • Experience in an agile environment (Scrum and Sprints)
  • Comfortable in a growing startup environment
  • Experience using Terraform and Puppet CMS
  • Experience using Google Cloud Platform monitoring and logging tools
  • Working knowledge of NodeJS, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS
