There are many different status codes that your website and server and can return. And for all our customers, whether on a free or a paid website monitoring plan, if our system picks up a status code that it should not – for instance a 404 status code – we’ll send out an alert to the Contact Group you have got set-up for that website.
Within the StatusCake.com account you’ll be able to receive alerts against 32 standard status codes. It is up to you whether you want to be alerted when any of these are triggered or just some.
As a paid customer of our uptime monitoring service you also have the added feature of being able to define your own status codes – you can add your own codes to trigger alerts depending on certain functions failing such as your database. So that when a particular status code is triggered, you know exactly what has failed and when.
